Diabetes is estimated to affect 6% (approx. 1.2million) Australian's and this number has been rapidly increasing from only 3.3% of Australian's in 2001.(1)
Diabetes is a lifelong medical condition and if not well managed from the start can lead to severe long term health implications such as kidney failure and blindness. However if a patient manages there diabetes well from day one they can significantly reduce the risk of these long term complications and live relatively normal lives.
We believe every diabetic patient should have access to reliable and accurate education on how they can improve there management of this lifelong illness. Therefore any of our pharmacists would love the opportunity to help provide you with diabetic education.
