You may be eligible for a prescription Safety Net Card if you receive 48 or more prescription items within a calendar year (1 January – 31 December). You can combine the number of prescriptions with members of your family, including your spouse and dependent children up to age 18.
A prescription Safety Net Card entitles you to receive PBS subsidised medicines without paying the standard co-payment, after 48 prescription items have been collected.
